Houston-based energy outfit Cheniere has signed a preliminary deal with Lithuania’s Klaipedos Nafta which could see it supply the country’s maiden LNG terminal.

In a memorandum of understanding signed today at the Lithuanian embassy in the US, Cheniere has agreed to help Klaipedos assess natural gas supply options.

"Today we signed an MOU with Cheniere to initiate discussions on natural gas supply options and the optimal structure under which Cheniere would be the future LNG supplier for our Klaipeda LNG receiving terminal project,” said Klaipedos Nafta general manager Rokas Masiulis.
