Cheniere Energy has filed an application with the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for authorisation to construct and operate a bi-directional facility near Corpus Christi, Texas.
The proposed facility will include three liquefaction trains capable of producing 15 million tonnes of LNG a year and a 23-mile pipeline which will connect with a number of inter-state gas pipelines.
The move follows an eight-month pre-filing process with the FERC for the project.
