A successful appraisal well has given a boost to PTTEP of Thailand’s planned Cash-Maple floating LNG project in Australia.

The company said the Maple-2 probe tested at 30 million cubic feet of gas and 696 barrels per day of condensate. Drilling reached a total depth of 4150 metres on 1 July.

“The well results enhance our knowledge of the resource and deliverability of the Cash-Maple field and are significant information to further justify the project’s economic viability,” said PTTEP chief executive Tevin Vongvanich.
