Woodside is drilling a large gas appraisal well north of the fields that will supply its Browse LNG project in north-west Australia.
The Argus-2 bore is being drilled in 538 metres of water in block AC/RL8 in the northern Browse basin.
Woodside has indicated previously that the well is targeting potential volumes of up to 4 trillion cubic feet of gas, which could be fed to the LNG development.
