BG Group is understood to be holding fire on plans to order two LNG carrier newbuildings in China.
The UK-based company had been expected to take the plunge after sealing a 3.6 million tonnes per annum sales deal with state-run China National Offshore Oil Corporation in 2010. Under the agreement, the companies will “jointly participate” in a consortium that will build and own two LNG carriers to be constructed in China.
