Global power company AES is reconsidering how to go about securing additional cargoes for its Dominican Republic LNG import terminal.



A tender to contract extra shipments at the Andres facility was expected this quarter but an AES source has revealed this may no longer go ahead due to the increased demand in Japan following the recent earthquake and tsunami.



The company is, however, already working to firm up sales and purchase agreements with new off-takers and is looking at what options are available for getting extra cargoes to back these up.
