Whessoe has been selected to take on project management at the Mundra LNG terminal project in India.
Developer Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation said the UK-based engineering company is expected to start work “shortly”.
Four big-hitters are understood to have bid to lead development of the 5 million tonnes per annum import terminal planned for India’s west coast.
Selection of the project management consultant is expected to allow the developer to move into the construction phase soon.
“By this year-end or maybe the first half of next year, we should be ready with Mundra for engineering, procurement and construction,” said a GSPC executive.
Mundra LNG developer GSPC LNG is a joint venture between GSPC and Adani Group.
