A unit of Dutch terminal outfit Vopak has signed a preliminary deal to become the strategic partner for an LNG import project in Estonia.

Vopak LNG Holding inked a letter of intent with Estonia’s power grid company Elering and the Port of Tallinn which will see the players launch a feasibility study into the planned project.

The study will cover technical and economic aspects of the scheme, the cost of construction and the need for European Union funding for the LNG terminal, which will be built at Muuga Harbour.
