Swedegas and Vopak of the Netherlands are pondering an LNG import joint venture in Gothenburg.
The Swedish gas infrastructure player has signed a letter of intent with the Dutch terminal operator to launch a feasibility study into the development.
The open-access facility could begin operations as early as 2015. “LNG is extremely interesting for shipping as an eco-friendly fuel,” said company president Lars Gustafsson.
