The US Virgin Islands is hoping to “piggy-back” on one of Puerto Rico’s LNG terminals in order to secure imports for the first time.
Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said it is assessing its options for bringing LNG to the region but claimed working with others will be necessary due to market size constraints.
“Our difficulty is that we are very small so the only way it is going to work or be effective is if we could somehow partner with some of the other territories or islands around us,” said a VIWAPA source.
