LNG import terminal developers will be able to offer platform-based regasification facilities alongside a floating storage unit in an upcoming bidding process being held by Uruguay’s Gas Sayago.
Companies responding to a request for proposals scheduled to be issued in August will also be able to bid floating storage and regasification units, as has long been planned.
Gas Sayago aims to keep its options open in the tender for a build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) contract for the South American country’s first LNG facility, a source said.
“For us, both things will serve our purposes,” he said.
