Two of the three short-listed players have submitted final LNG supply offers for Jamaica’s maiden import terminal project.
Anglo-Dutch supermajor Shell and global financial services giant Morgan Stanley lodged bids by the end of July cut-off date, according to Jamaica’s LNG steering committee chairman Carlton Davis.
Japanese trading house Marubeni was too late and did not qualify.
“We hope to complete the evaluations by the middle of August,” said Davis.
Shell and Morgan Stanley will now fight it out to supply the import terminal as the only survivors from an original pool of six international players.
Energy consultancy Pace Global and Spanish companies Repsol-YPF and Gas Natural Fenosa made up the list.
