Tokyo Gas has purchased land for the planned Hitachi LNG terminal as it continues to pursue an aggressive timetable to complete the facility.
The deal with the Ibaraki prefecture government will allow the Japanese utility to begin construction late this month.
Tokyo Gas is also aiming to build a pipeline from the terminal at Ibaraki port to the city of Moki in Tochigi prefecture.
