A trio of foreign companies have thrown their hats in the ring to build Bangladesh’s maiden LNG import terminal.

Samsung C&T, Hiranandani Electricity and a consortium of Astra Oil with Excelerate Energy have each lodged bids with developed Petrobangla, according to The Financial Express.

The Bangladesh state-owned energy company had asked for proposals on a 500 million cubic feet per day floating storage and regasification unit with subsea connections and moorings off Moheshkhali Island near Chittagong in the Bay of Bengal.
