Thailand’s energy minister, Pichai Naripthaphan, has formally declared the Map Ta Phut LNG terminal open for business.
Naripthaphan inaugurated PTT LNG’s 5 million tonnes per annum facility at a ceremony today.
Construction of the project, located in Rayong province, was completed in May and commercial operations kicked off in July.
Peru provided the first commercial cargo to the terminal onboard the 173,400-cbm Barcelona Knutsen (built 2010).
