Italy’s Environment Ministry has given the green light to BG Group’s plans to partially submerge the storage tanks at its proposed Brindisi LNG terminal.



The change is aimed at meeting a key condition of an environmental impact assessment approved in 2010.



However, the import project remains in a holding pattern ahead of a key stakeholders meeting.



A second so-called conference of services is expected to convene sometime in the first half to consider whether BG can regain access to the site, said a spokeswoman for the UK gas giant.
