A competitive tender to supply LNG to Puerto Rico’s maiden floating storage and regasification unit is expected to be launched in the next three to four months.
Juan Roman Rivera, executive vice president and fiscal agent for the Government Development Bank, said the institution would like the supply contract finalised by year-end.
A time-charter party for the FSRU, dubbed the Aguirre Offshore GasPort, is due to be signed between Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA) and regas unit provider Excelerate Energy in the next 30 to 60 days.
Rivera said the required supply volumes have yet to be decided.
