Sri Lanka is poised to ditch a floating option for its maiden import terminal in favour of a land-based facility to be built in collaboration with Indian operator Petronet LNG.
Project leader Lakdhanavi, a subsidiary of engineering outfit LTL Holdings, is working with government agencies to assess the viability of the proposal following a pre-feasibility report submitted by Petronet this month.
