LNG imports to Spain fell in April as the new Medgaz pipeline completed its first full month of operations.
Transmission outfit Enagas said LNG imports dropped to 23.1 terawatt hours, down 8.6% on April 2010. Natural gas imports surged by 34.1% to 8.84 terawatt hours.
Commissioning of Sonatrach’s 8 billion cubic metres per annum Medgaz pipeline between Algeria and Spain began in early March.
