Excelerate Energy aims to start up a floating LNG terminal in Puerto Rico in September 2014.
The Houston-based outfit intends to apply to the US Department of Energy for an LNG import licence for its Aguirre GasPort in the third quarter of this year.
It firmed up a deal in December with the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority to provide a floating storage and regasification unit off the Caribbean nation.
