Authorities in Russia’s Murmansk region have promised a second tax break to Shtokman Development, the operator of the first phase of the Shtokman gas and LNG project.
Under amendments to regional laws, the operator may now qualify for a reduced 13.5% corporate income tax as well as full exemption from property tax.
Russia’s corporate tax is 20%, of which one tenth goes to the central government.
