The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has vacated approval of the second phase of expansion planned for the Elba Island LNG terminal in Georgia.
El Paso Corporation subsidiary Southern LNG, which runs the facility, filed the motion in August saying there is no longer a need for a further 200,0000 cubic-metre storage tank and new submerged combustion vaporisers.
The expansion would have lifted regas capacity by 495 million cubic feet per day.
