Samsung C&T Corporation has come out on top in a contest to provide Jamaica’s maiden import terminal infrastructure.
LNG steering committee chairman Carlton Davis said the South Korean company has emerged as preferred bidder to supply the floating storage and regasification unit for the project.
The company faced competition from Belgium’s Exmar and Sener Ingenieria y Sisternas of Spain in the fight to provide the FSRU.
Negotiations between the committee and Samsung are now expected to begin.
