Italy-based RINA Group has won a project management contract for the South Sumatra floating storage and regasification unit project in Indonesia.
The classification society, appointed by gas distributor Perusahaan Gas Negara’s subsidiary PGAS Solution, will be involved with concept selection and front-end engineering and design work.
It will also offer help during negotiations with shipyards and provide commissioning support for the FSRU Charlie.
“RINA has been selected because we can deliver a wide range of engineering and marine competence and proven experience with offshore gas,” said energy development manager Angelo Lo Nigro.
