Dominion has won approval to re-export cargoes from its Cove Point LNG terminal (pictured) in Maryland as the company seeks ways to keep the under-utilised facility operational.

The US utility’s terminal operating arm Dominion Cove Point can re-export the equivalent of up to 150 billion cubic feet of natural gas over two years.

The operator has been seeking ways to improve business at the facility after claiming that not enough cargoes are being delivered to keep the cryogenic tanks cool.
