PTT has officially withdrawn from a never-finalised deal to purchase 1 million tonnes per annum of LNG from Qatar to feed its new Map Ta Phut LNG receiving facility in Rayong province.
The decision comes on the back of a recent price surge, according to Reuters.
PTT told LNG Unlimited it has instead secured 1 million tpa in year-long deals with alternative suppliers, plus at least 350,000 tonnes in spot cargoes.
