Colombia’s government plans to hold acompetition to build and operate two LNG terminals late this year, writesEric Martin.

The contest will pit the private sectorgroups, which proposed the separate terminal plans that won government support,against counter-bidders that will have the chance to attempt to beat the costs.

A Mines and Energy Ministry spokesman saidthe process is still in the consultation stage. An investment bank will behired to act as an adviser in the process, he added.
