Scheduling for Brazil’s first independent import project has slipped with government approval now on the agenda for late this year.
The Tergas LNG terminal and associated power plant, planned for the southern city of Rio Grande, failed to secure consent at this month’s federal power supply auction. Developer Hidrotermica will now have to try again at the next round.
“Hopefully this will take place in November or December,” said a source close to the project.
