Petronet LNG has signed a deal with Gangavaram Port to develop the Indian importer’s first east coast terminal.

The partners have agreed to set up a 5 million tonnes per annum regasification facility at a cost of 45 billion Indian rupees ($850 million).

The regasification project is due to start up in 2016.

Petronet LNG’s chief manager of projects last week revealed that the detailed feasibility study for the project has been completed and front-end engineering and design documents have been issued to selected parties.
