Indian importer Petronet LNG is due to tender this week for either a floating storage and regasification unit or a vessel to act as a floating storage unit at a planned east coast terminal, writes Lucy Hine.
The company is seeking a stopgap solution from third-quarter 2014 until a land-based terminal can be put into operation from 2016. The plan is to moor a vessel within Gangavaram Port in Andhra Pradesh using the shelter of the existing breakwater.
