Petrobras has signed a preliminary deal with two South Korean companies that could lead to the construction of a fourth import terminal in Brazil.
The letter of intent calls on shipowner Hyundai Merchant Marine and engineer Samsung C&T to study the feasibility of a combined fertiliser plant and regasification facility in Rio Grande do Sul.
The partners, along with the state government, will form a panel to explore both commercial and technical aspects of the proposed $5 billion complex.
