All four groups invited to bid on Petrobangla’s planned floating LNG import project did not submit an offer by this week’s deadline.

The Bangladesh state-owned energy company had asked for proposals on a 500 million cubic feet per day floating storage and regasification unit with subsea connections and moorings off Moheshkhali Island near Chittagong in the Bay of Bengal.

Excelerate Energy with Astra Oil, Golar LNG, Samsung C&T and India’s Hiranandani Private Company in partnership with Hoegh LNG did not respond by the Monday cut-off.

The bid deadline had already been pushed back twice from an original date in January.
