Downeast LNG is expecting environmental permits for its US import terminal to land in March but is planning to shelve the project until the market changes in its favour.
The developer is seeking permission to construct a terminal on Passamaquoddy Bay in the north-east state of Maine but is still waiting on a final environmental impact statement, a prerequisite to full Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approval.
