Vopak is considering ways to make the Gate LNG terminal in Rotterdam available for small-scale markets.
Chief operating officer Frits Eulderlink pointed to shipping out volumes on “the barges that are on our rivers in the direction of Germany and Switzerland but also road trucks”.
Discussions are still in the early stages, he said.
Gate LNG is due to kick off commercial operations on 1 September with a cargo from Qatar delivered onboard a Q-Max vessel.
