Indonesia’s Perusahaan Gas Negara is to relocate its Medan LNG floating storage and regasification unit to an alternative site off the island of Sumatra.
Unit provider Hoegh LNG said: “PGN has decided to change the location from offshore Belawan to offshore Labuhan Maringgai on the east coast of south Sumatra where two subsea pipelines owned and operated by PGN cross the Sunda Straits to West Java.”
Hoegh said its 20-year charter party on the 170,000-cbm FSRU newbuilding, which includes provision for a relocation, remains in force.
The change of location will not impact the project schedule with the FSRU due to be operational by 2013.
