- The Asian spot market remained firm throughout this week as Japanese power companies actively sought spot cargoes, Rim Intelligence said. The market analyst lifted its spot price assessment for the region to $16.50 and $16.55 per million British thermal units for the first and second halves of May, respectively, up from $16.15 a week earlier.
- Japanese utility Hokkaido Gas said this week it expects to receive a first cargo of LNG at its new Ishikari import terminal on 7 October.
