A three-and-a-half-year job to convert an LNG carrier into a floating storage and regasification unit for Italy is nearing completion in the Middle East.
A spokesman for OLT Offshore LNG Toscana (OLT Offshore) said the FSRU Toscana (pictured) is due to be completed in time for a planned tow away from Dubai’s Drydocks World shipyard in November, as previously scheduled.
Sources have suggested the unit’s departure could end up being nudged closer to the end of the year after some replacement parts had to be manufactured.
