The Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power crisis has changed Japan’s LNG import picture for the foreseeable future.

Volumes are continuing to grow, jumping by 22.5% in February compared to a year earlier. That strength will only be reinforced when Tokyo Electric Power Company shutters its last operational nuclear reactor on Monday for maintenance.

The post-Fukushima scramble for cargoes is not the only growth story in North-east Asia, however.
