ConocoPhillips expects to resume LNG exports from the Kenai liquefaction plant in Alaska in May.
The facility, which was due to be shuttered, will deliver four to five cargoes to Asia between now and the end of the year, said a spokeswoman.
The US supermajor is believed to have fixed General Dynamics’ 126,300-cbm LNG Gemini (built 1978) to ship the summer cargoes.
ConocoPhillips had been planning to cease operations at Kenai LNG in May 2011.
However, extra demand from Japan following last year’s earthquake and tsunami led to a number of spot cargo purchases at the facility.
“The plant will be in operation until later this year.
