Jamaica is kicking off front-end engineering and design of a pipeline network to connect the Caribbean island nation’s maiden LNG terminal to its main customers.
A pipeline expert from WorleyParsons, which is acting as technical advisor on the import project, arrived this week and the study should be completed by the end of April, said a source.
A request for proposals from companies wishing to build the network will be issued “shortly thereafter”, he added.
Following the FEED, the WorleyParsons expert will assist the Energy Ministry’s LNG Steering Committee in developing an island-wide LNG and natural gas delivery strategy, which will look at tying in other customers.
