Jamaican authorities are planning to launch a new study into how to serve a wider customer base from the Caribbean island nation’s maiden import terminal.



The Ministry of Energy and Mining’s LNG steering committee has extended its contract with technical advisor WorleyParsons to help prepare the “delivery” report.



The planned LNG project is currently set to supply three main off-takers.



Jamaica Public Services Company requires regasified volumes for a new 360-megawatt independent power plant while Jamaica Energy Partners will buy gas for the conversion of existing 125MW power barges.
