Indonesia’s government has told state-owned energy company Pertamina to continue with its plan to build a 3 million tonnes per annum floating LNG import terminal in central-east Java.

The project was put on hold some months back with Pertamina and the national authorities giving off mixed messages about whether they would proceed.

After putting the country’s first FSRU into operation off West Java, Pertamina’s plan to add regas facilities to the existing Arun LNG production plant caused power provider Perusahaan Gas Negara to shift the location of its first planned import floater.
