Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd is planning to build an LNG import terminal in south-west India.
The Oil & Natural Gas Corporation subsidiary said it is in talks with Shell, as well as compatriot Gail (India) and Petronet LNG, an executive told Dow Jones Newswires.
MRPL plans to use the terminal to supply its petrochemical plant and oil refinery at Mangalore, Karnataka state.
