Gas-hungry Indian Oil Corporation opened the door to the LNG spot market this week before construction has even started at its first import terminal.



The government-controlled company began a pre-qualification exercise to build a panel of suppliers to participate in future short-notice LNG tenders.



Members will be invited to bid on cargoes to be delivered to Petronet LNG’s Dahej terminal or the Shell-controlled Hazira facility, in addition to Indian Oil’s proposed Ennore LNG site.
