Engineers India Ltd has confirmed it expects to walk away with the front-end engineering and design contract for Petronet LNG’s planned east coast import terminal in a matter of days.
The Indian importer declined to name the winner of the job at the land-based regasification plant but said an award should hopefully be finalised next week.
Around 10 companies were invited to bid for the FEED in April.
Petronet is planning to build a 5 million tonnes per annum facility at the port of Gangavaram, which will be its first foray on the country’s east coast.
An initial feasibility study and detailed project report have already been wrapped up with FEED work set to begin as soon as the contract is formally signed.
