South Korea’s government has revived a proposal to loosen Korea Gas’ stranglehold on LNG imports in the country.
Details of the Strategy and Finance Ministry’s plans are still undefined, although they may be based on a reform bill on the table for some time that would gradually open up the gas market to more players.
The ministry intends to submit the new bill during the current parliamentary session, which begins this month.
