Chilean utility GasAtacama is expected to shortlist bidders for its planned floating LNG import project in the next few weeks.
At least four companies, including three of the most active regasification players Golar LNG, Excelerate Energy and Hoegh LNG, are known to have put in offers on the business. Regas wannabe Teekay has also bid.
A fifth company, understood to have been a Japanese shipowner, was initially reported to have been making a play for the business but this has not been confirmed.
