Jamaica has pushed back the deadline for LNG supply offers at its maiden import terminal.

A shortlist of bidders, drawn up from an original pool of six international players, now has until 27 July to lodge second-stage submissions with the Energy Ministry. Bids had been due in on Tuesday.

The extension is said to be the final delay to the supply tender and comes after requests for extra time from more than one bidder, said a project source.

Project manager Ernie Megginson has meanwhile reportedly left the LNG Steering Committee, which is guiding development of the import project.

Further committee reshuffling took place last month when Carlton Davis took over from Chris Zacca as chairman.
