US regasification specialist Excelerate Energy is in talks with shipyards about ordering additional vessels as it looks to expand its fleet to meet upcoming project requirements.

Company president Rob Bryngelson said: “Things are under negotiation. We are looking at more vessels and larger vessels.” The largest LNG carriers in Excelerate’s existing fleet are 150,900-cbm.

He said the company is also looking at smaller ships for use in conjunction with its existing fleet in a hub and spoke arrangement.
