Italy’s Enel is due to kick off ground works for the consented Porto Empedocle LNG terminal in Sicily in January. Initial site works are continuing.
“During site assessments, several activities are being carried out which will take a few weeks to be completed,” said an Enel spokesman.
The company is surveying the area to confirm it is free from archaeological remains or unexploded ordnance.
